During indoor volleyball matches, women players wear short and tight shorts and for beach volleyball matches, they tend to wear bikini bottoms.

As per the new rules by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), women players of beach volleyball were free to wear any kind of short bikini. But for those who are not comfortable and prefer to cover up they can wear shorts with proper sleeved tops. The decision was taken keeping in mind the cultural beliefs of some countries and who have religious and cultural requirements. Due to this the uniforms should be according to their preferences.
New rule to be followed in Olympics
According to the new uniform rules for volleyball uniform during Olympics, the shorts should be of maximum length of 1.18 inches above the knee and women players can wear either sleeved or sleeveless tops. This rule has already been implemented at all the five Continental Cup qualifying competitions which include 142 nations.
So the question arises is that are women wearing tight shorts for sexuality or for better and enhanced performance in the game. The logic indicates that the attire is very critical for better performance in the game. There are chances of long and loose shorts to get caught and entangled in the volleyball net which could hinder yours as well as your team’s performance.
The argument here is that it is better to wear comfortable uniform for a game of volleyball, it could be bikini for beach games or short and tight shorts for a regular game as long as you are comfortable and able to perform well.
